Quite a sight in the Potomac Ballroom

Conference room with five lcd screens

That’s a wrap on Vision Source: The Exchange 2022! This is one of our largest shows of the year, and with the incredible partnership of EGR International, we recently completed our week-long production of this event.

We traveled in a crew of more than 20 people to Gaylord National in the DC metro area for this show. Between set-up, tech checks and full on-stage rehearsals we were four working days in even before our first show day! Our ballroom set was very large-scale as we had to ensure all 2,700+ attendees got the full experience.

So where to begin? We were fortunate to have early access into the ballroom to off load our two full semi-trucks and also begin working with the in-house rigging team to position some of our lighting fixtures on the trussing so they were ready to be flown. The full set day that followed included constructing a stage, flying side/center screens and delay screens, building multiple scenic pieces both on the stage and underneath the screens, setting up three cameras, flying our speaker stacks, and getting FOH, backstage and video world all situated.

Team setting up the stage lights

The next day, once everything was mostly in place, we conducted thorough tech checks and started to run content reviews with presenters. After our full on-stage rehearsal day, we were ready to go LIVE for show!

Screens and video mixer

The three show days consisted of a full slate of sponsor presentations during which the presenters produced video content, performed skits, introduced new products, etc. Some presenting sponsors even enlisted special acts on stage: we saw magic, dance routines, game shows, appearances from Olympic athletes, and much more!

Stage with two screens and teleprompter

Vision Source leadership did a flawless job sharing company updates and also introducing three amazing keynote speakers (one each day). Vernice “Fly Girl” Armour, former Super Bowl Champion/MVP Kurt Warner and Two Blind Brothers were all remarkable additions to the program as a whole.

We were so fortunate to have such a top-notch crew work on this event. Its success would not have been possible without the steady hand of EGR along the way in addition to the entire team at Vision Source. Thank you once again for the opportunity, and we’ll see you for The Exchange 2023!!!
