Tenn-es-SEE
That’s a wrap from Music City! Our crew spent eight days in Nashville to produce a large-scale General Session for the 2026 Vision Source Exchange in partnership with EGR International. It was a full week between a pre-load day, two load-in/set days, a full rehearsal day, and three show days with a special closing night performance (followed by an overnight load-out)! We welcomed nearly 4,000 attendees, a crowd comprised of private practice optometrists and their staff from all over the country.
The main focal point of our set was a custom 15’ x 90’ front projection screen that we built during the pre-load day. This was flown behind the main stage with two ground-supported vertical IMAG screens on each side. This allowed for an intricate projection blend and multiple pre-set looks to include full screen video and graphics content, PIPs, and camera switching. The rest of the set was dressed with scenic tiles and wings of black drape that we up-lit with different patterns and colors throughout the show.
We also rigged two delay screens and a stage-facing teleprompter screen along with our full PA system and extensive lighting complement made up of stage wash fixtures, gobo holders, and several different kinds of movers.
Darius Rucker performed a private concert in our ballroom for the closing party - an awesome treat for attendees! Much of the lighting design was done in tandem with his production team as we worked with them for weeks in advance to make sure we satisfied the technical needs of their show. This included a room turn after the closing General Session to load in all their backline equipment, and we also built four manned follow-spot towers.
The rest of the show was rounded out by an opening act of pyrotechnic performers, vendor presentations and Vision Source leadership remarks. P.D. the Parrot (a crowd favorite)! returned again as the animatronic host; his witty delivery of one-liners among the rest of his scripted content kept the audience engaged and laughing.
We shipped our gear in two 53’ trailers and given the sheer volume and scope, there was quite a bit of pre-production between our show managers and the venue. For months leading up to the show, we made sure all house and power needs, loading dock assignments, move-in logistics, fork and scissor lift requirements, fire watch, security, etc. were planned for.
It was a total team effort and we are very grateful for our partnership with our wonderful friends from EGR International!
