Palm Beach vibes for GC26

That’s a wrap from Palm Beach Convention Center! For the fifth consecutive year, we produced AV for the annual VISIT FLORIDA Governor’s Conference which includes a main GS, several breakouts and committee meetings, expo support, and a Board of Directors meeting. It’s a jam-packed week for us on site, as this event requires two and a half days of load-in and rehearsals before the show even starts.

We arrived at the venue on Labor Day to offload all three of our trucks and to work with the in-house riggers in getting all the truss bolted together and raised to working height to attach our projectors, lighting fixtures, and PA. We designed a brand new set this year, which featured a center widescreen projection blend with horizontal LED outboards in staggering widths. Between the LED “strips,” we placed additional lighting fixtures to complement the video looks and to add even more dimension.

The show kicked off with a speech from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis followed by the annual Flager Awards presentation, acknowledging the marketing achievements of tourism organizations across the state. These are primarily pre-produced with video content packaged together with a fully pre-recorded voiceover narration.

The other sessions throughout the week featured remarks by VISIT FLORIDA leadership, sponsor presentations, keynote addresses and a live specialty drummer performance. In the expo hall, we patched into the house sound system for VOG announcements and ambience music. We also supported display monitors for their Spotlight Sessions that happen throughout the week.

Breakouts and Board of Directors all set, operate, and strike at different times, so we always have to plan our labor and gear moves ahead of time to make sure everything is covered within the access and schedule we get from the venue.
