Elevated AV, close to home

That’s a wrap from Pier Sixty-Six! We partnered up with our friends from A2 Events to provide full-scale AV production for a medical conference at one of Fort Lauderdale’s most iconic properties where we’re fortunate to work frequently. We were on site for four days between load-in, general session show days, an awards gala, and strike.

The GS set in Tavistock Ballroom featured a clean and polished look with two 9’ x 16’ front projection screens as the main video display sources. We also positioned an 86” monitor on each side at the midway point of the room to serve as delay screens. Our PA was all ground supported to cover the entire room with our subs set up backstage behind the drape line.

Lighting design featured stage wash and up-lighting to hit the drape in the colors of the event theme. During the awards gala the last night, we were able to create multiple upbeat looks including chases and ballyhoos. A live DJ patched into our audio system and kept the energy going after awards were announced and dinner was served.

We also supported AV in three breakout rooms, the foyer outside Tavistock Ballroom, and a meal room that needed audio coverage for a welcome reception. Our crew had to work efficiently during load-out as we had a tight timeline to get the room cleared; we were able to delegate and prioritize tasks accordingly and got out by our deadline to accommodate another group coming in right after us.
