The South Florida Media Day Circuit Continues…

Greetings from Biscayne Boulevard! Our crew recently worked Media Day and an additional “Social” Media Day for the Miami Heat at the newly named FTX Arena. We were onsite with Bally Sports Florida – the regional TV home of Heat basketball – as they captured video content, gladiator shots and soundbites of the players to be used during the telecasts this upcoming season.

For Media Day, we provided additional camera support in front of a scenic backdrop made up of nine HD monitors (creating a 3 x 3 wall) that were all displaying graphic loops to make one universal image. The camera was placed on a raised ramp-like structure, so that our operator could pan side to side easily while also allowing for advanced zoom capabilities on close-up shots.

In addition to shooting gladiators, Bally Sports Florida producer Josh Hanson also prompted scripted content and marketing interviews with the players for promo purposes. It was a full day of shooting at the 601 Club on the bay-facing side of the arena, and an all-around awesome experience for our crew!

We were also back a week later for the Heat’s internal Social Media Day, once again with the team from Bally Sports Florida. This time we were assisting with their new Miami Mic’d Up Podcast featuring host Jeremy Taché.

We built a set within the visitor’s locker room that consisted of black-out drape, red up-lighting and both Astra and Intellytech light panels for front- and back-fill. We provided multiple cameras to display a two-shot of Jeremey and whichever player was his interview guest and a close-up on just the player.

Jeremy mixed his audio signal into the camera capture card for full records to be edited and later uploaded to the podcast. The interviews were fun and lighthearted, delving into on- and off- the court happenings before the season tips off next week.

Thanks again to our friends at Bally Sports Florida for both opportunities – it was great working with Josh, Jeremy, Director James Luecke, Social Media Producer Seth Ribnick and Director of Media Relations Eric Esteban.

Good luck to our Miami Heat this season!!
