Realtor group hosts “Draft Night” at Panthers’ arena

That’s a wrap from Amerant Bank Arena! We were back at a very familiar venue, this time minus the ice and with a hard covering on the floor for house seating and our AV set. This event happened while the Florida Panthers were on a lengthy road trip, opening up the arena’s availability for the corporate gala.

The main video display that we built behind the stage was a 10’ x 20’ 2.3mm pixel pitch LED wall, sharing signal with the in-house video board above. We also covered the flooring with a full-scale PA system so that audio could be heard clearly from each table.

After the attendees were greeted, they started the evening in the Amerant Vault – which is an exclusive dining club section in the lower bowl section of the arena at center ice. After Welcome appetizers and cocktails, they made their way downstairs to the floor seating for a full dinner as a hype video rolled on both our LED wall and the jumbotron.

What was unique about this event was the theme: the company wanted to achieve a broadcast-style “Draft Night” to simulate the feel of a pro sports league’s entry draft. The hosts, high-level representatives of the company, were seated at the desk on stage and even wore countryman headset mics to mirror the look and feel of broadcast mics.

The new Board of Directors was installed during the event, in the form of “draft picks” that were announced during the pre-produced videos. This was a full day for our crew with set/show/strike happening all same day and with load-out taking us into the early morning hours of the following day. It was an awesome event with a memorable theme!
