"Lions" at Jungle Island

That’s a wrap on Greater Miami Jewish Federation “Lion of Judah” luncheon! Our crew was back at Jungle Island to produce this annual event for our longtime trusted partners at Federation. This was a two-day production between a full load-in/set day and the following day consisting of the show and strike.

The main focal point of the set was a center LED video wall, with two rear projection screens flanking the stage. This was complemented with a line of white drape and up-lighting, with custom gobos showing the event logo hitting the drape.

We had three cameras on this show for IMAG and records: two manned and one PTZ. The run of show consisted of some very memorable performances and speeches, including a special dance rendition, a live performance for the national anthems and a very moving testimonial from one of the October 7, 2023 hostages who has since returned home safely!

Our projectors were positioned on scaffolding backstage, but our speakers and lighting were flown as we worked in conjunction with the in-house rigging team. We enlisted a combination of wireless mics and two lectern mics along with a full presidential teleprompting system positioned near the lectern.

There were several stage transitions that happened throughout the event, so our stage manager and stage hands had to work efficiently to execute these in the allotted time. With much of the show being scripted, it was very beneficial that we had a full run-through the day before so that presenters were allowed ample opportunities to rehearse.
