GMCC takes the hardwood!

That’s a wrap from JW Marriott Marquis Miami! In collaboration with the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, we produced AV for their annual “Goals Conference” as we’ve been doing for more than two decades. We had a fun change of pace for the venue this year; our set-up was in the indoor basketball court on the 19th floor of the hotel!

They played to this unique meeting “room” for a lot of the themes throughout the show – think: playbook, defensive/offensive strategies, teamwork, etc. We patched into the venue’s center LED wall and also routed the video signal into a confidence monitor placed in front of the stage. A full presidential teleprompting system including glass panels was enlisted as much of the program closely followed a script. Much of the court, including the hoops, was sectioned off by a full line of white drape, but they did open it up at one point for their president to take a shot and get the crowd hyped up.

Our PA was ground supported with speakers around the perimeter of the room and foldbacks on the stage. Our mic complement included a combo of four wireless handhelds/lavs and a lectern mic to support individual speeches and a fireside chat panel discussion to close out the show.

Across from the basketball court was an entertainment area that hosted a cocktail reception after the main meeting concluded. We positioned display monitors all throughout this area in addition to another small sound system so leadership could give remarks there as well.

Set, show and strike were all contained within one day, so it made for an early call time and a busy agenda. Our crew was focused from the get-go and worked together efficiently to stay on schedule and produce another successful meeting for the Chamber.
